Constituency Youth Council Applications 2018 – 2019

Bob Bratina, Member of Parliament for the riding of Hamilton East – Stoney Creek invites young Canadians from the ages of 15 – 24 to apply to his 2018 – 2019 Constituency Youth Council.

What? The Constituency Youth Council is an opportunity for youth to learn about Canada’s political process, discuss their viewpoints on issues, and most importantly, get involved in their communities. Projects undertaken by past Constituency Youth Councils have ranged from food drives to multimedia projects. Furthermore, past councils have discussed the importance of issues involving climate change, gender equality, and youth employment. This year’s council will have the chance to build on these discussions and embark on projects that will positively impact our community.

When? The Constituency Youth Council meets for the duration of a full school year term, from September 2018 to June 2019.

Why? Giving youth a voice is vital to our government. A youth perspective brings a new light to issues touching our community, and our country. The CYC in Hamilton East – Stoney Creek is working hard to be the youth voice for our community, and as Member of Parliament, I intend to bring this perspective with me, upon my return to Ottawa.

How? To apply, applicants must complete and submit this application form no later than Sept. 30, 2018 **
